I bought this pretty little Laura Ashley table way back in the 1990’s. It’s been used for my sewing machine, laptop, writing and a host of other things, hence it was looking rather tired and needed repairing again (3rd time).
I mixed my own colour using 2 Annie Sloan chalk paints – 4 parts Paris Grey to 1 part Chateau Grey (green). I added a French style stencil in a dark green, and finally a wax finish, firstly with clear wax, then smushing dark wax around in various places, buffing to a soft sheen the next morning. The final part was to add the metal corners, not just for decoration this time, but hopefully this will stop the sides coming apart (again!).
These tables usually have the top part like a tray, but I’ve always preferred to use it the other way up. After all, it’s MY table and so my choice 😉
