I’ve been itching to add a Gillio organiser to my collection for a while. Recently, Victor from Luxecadeautjes offered a nice discount to members of the Gillio group on Facebook. I did resist for a few days but as you can guess, resistance is futile 😉 I really do have more Personal/Standard/Medium sized planners than I know what to do with and I do like working with the larger sized planner at my desk, and as this was A5 size, I decided to jump in.
It’s also a little different to most planners as it has a fold-over flap and a clasp as opposed to the usual popper stud or magnetic fastener. It’s also lockable except that it has no key (I’m on a mission to find one).
Well packaged, it arrived in a box, in a green dustbag with Gigliodoro on the front.. There’s no calendar but it comes with a generous supply of inserts which I’ll go through in the photos further down the post. Like most quality binders, it also has a leather flyleaf to protect the paper inserts. Other contents include a transparent flyleaf, Today ruler/page marker and a large fold-out world map.
The cover is, of course, top quality leather. It feels soft but it also feels very strong and it’s a gorgeous deep, rich brown. There’s only 1 pen loop but as it’s at my desk I have plenty of pens to hand. Inside front cover, there are 2 secretarial pockets, 3 card slots and one larger pocket below. Stamped on this pocket is the Gigliodoro® logo and the model name “Divino” below that. Inside the back cover there is one full height slot that’s around 3″/80mm wide. This could be used for slotting in larger loose papers or even a tall, narrow notebook. “Genuine Calf Leather Made in Italy” is stamped in small letters on the back cover. Oh, and the ring mechanism and clasp are gold 🙂
This is the first time I’ve brought from Luxecadeautjes and I must say that Victor and Eelke are efficient and very pleasant to deal with. If ever I DO decide to add a medium Gillio to my collection…I know where I’ll be buying it from 😀
As you can see, there are a lot of inserts supplied. I’ll show these in more detail in THIS next post
Finally, a wonderful and useful little freebie – a hole reinforcer and refills.
